Our rates and consultation
Our rates are balanced between our investment in technology, our years of experience, the time we spend in communicating until a contract is signed, the time editing a job, insurance, marketing and what the market dictates in the different cities we work. Because there are basic expenses we incur even with very short jobs, there is a minimum fee resulting in the shorter the job the higher the rates but the most concise the work you receive. Long or short events, in all cases our approach is the same and we will give you our recommendations when the needs are more than the budget you count for. Preparing our work
We plan our shoots. We scout the rooms to decide our best angles and to calibrate our cameras matching the type of light of each room. We arrive to the location early to meet the client and find out where the best photos are going to happen. Is there a main speaker? Where will he/she be and where will you have a clear shot without blocking the view of attendees? Is there a large window nearby? If people are posing for photos, we make sure they face the window for the best lighting scenario. Can we incorporate a company logo into any of the shots? We decide how to position ourselves to deliver the best content.
Our Etiquette
Your event is our opportunity to become part of a project where we will use the experience we collected through hundreds of events through the last fifteen years. We learned many things that we bring to you as soon as you select us as your photographers. We take our work seriously. You don’t need to worry about a photographer in tennis shoes or a colorful t shirt. We Look like you belong to your event and we dress to fit in. In most cases our events are business attire. We wear a suit and tie to these events because we understand and respect the purpose of the event. It also helps us connecting with attendees easier, because they assume we belong there.
Our Technology
We select our equipment very carefully because the quality of our work is improved when our cameras can work in very bad light conditions. Cameras that makes minimal noise providing high quality even at very high sensibilities become essential to the professional photographer. Our basic equipment is composed by two SLR bodies rigged with two fast lenses covering the whole focal distance from 24mm to 300mm. With this equipment we can get a close up of the main speaker from the distance with a long telephoto lens with Vibration Reduction (VR) system. We use the short zoom lens for shots of attendees and panoramas.
Flash or not Flash
You’ll see a flash on our camera always, but we try to minimize it’s use. Since we never know what is going to happen at a live event, it’s helpful to have our flash ready. We may not need it, but we may turn the corner and see the president coming down a dark hallway. The only way to get the shot is to be ready for it. And we are.
Event Photography Style
Our working style defines the quality of the images you use to communicate with your members. The networking, mingling part of an event is crucial to show the success of attending the event. We tend to take two different styles from every situation in front of us. We avoid photos of people eating. A candid photo of a group chatting and in some cases, the same group posing for the camera after asking for permission first. We tell the attendees who we are and what the photo will be used for. About 99 percent of the time, the people will have no problem. Room shots, signage, registration, crowd, are some of the other subjects we document for your marketing.
We edit quickly and deliver quickly
In this new world of social media as a news source, speed is the name of the game. Organizations expect a quick turnaround, typically 24 hours. Any longer than that and the images get a little stale. People have moved on to the next event and are no longer interested in yesterday’s news. Corporate event photography requires to be fast. We can deliver an image of a speaker almost instantly connecting the camera to our phone and transmitting vie email or text. We call this service, Instant delivery for press and we can event add captions if requested.
